A bold accent with large leaves and tall spikes
This Ligularia has large, heart-shaped leaves of up to 2 feet. The leaves have purple veins, are edged with exaggerated teeth and are borne on purple stems, making them quite dramatic. The foliage is mounded at the base of the plant, although some leaves are also borne on the tall flower spikes. The flowers—small, bright yellow daisies—are borne on 5- to 6-foot-tall spikes. Use this Ligularia as a bold accent or a pondside plant. |
